Regular Updates of Contact Details

Please notify the office of any changes to address or phone numbers.  We need to be able to contact you at all times in cases of emergency.  The school operates a texting service to parents to keep you informed of events and messages will not get through to you if we do not have your current number.

Absences

Illness

Please phone or complete the form below if your child is unable to come to school. It is important that we know about this as soon as possible on the first day of absence.  Our number is 01484 452128.  It is also important that we know about infectious diseases so that we can inform other parents whose child may have been in contact with your child.

Medicine

If your child needs to take prescribed medicine during school hours you must complete a medical form, which is available upon request.  Only medication provided by the doctor can be given in school with parent’s consent.

Appointments

If your child needs to attend an appointment during school hours we ask that you notify us in advance wherever possible. You need to sign out your child on the electronic system when collecting, and sign back in when you return to school. This is important for fire safety. The signing in/out screen is located in the foyer of each building.

Holidays

A list of term times and holiday dates can be found on the Parents Board and here.  It is strongly recommended that for your child's learning you do not take holidays during term time.  If you must take your child out of school during term time due to exceptional circumstances you will need to fill in an Exceptional Circumstances form.  These can be obtained from the school office or downloaded here  Your completed form should be returned to the Head Teacher, Mrs Kent, who will consider your request. The letter about holidays in term time can be viewed here.

Complaints

We take all concerns seriously.  Please contact the school office and ask to speak to a member of staff if you have concerns.  Please address any complaints to Mrs Kent.

Making payments to school

Parent Pay

Click here to visit the Parent Pay website.  We use a secure service called ParentPay, which allows parents to pay for school meals and milk online. We will also use it for trips and after school clubs in the near future. We are working towards no longer accepting cash and cheque payments in school, making the school a cash-free environment.  Parents who need to continue making payments by cash may do so using the PayPoint network at local convenience stores.

Exceptions - cash will still be accepted in school for:

Book bags (£2.50 – available from the school offices)

Fruit money (15p per item, KS2 only)

Making secure payments online using your credit or debit card

ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.  You will have a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password; you will be prompted to change these, and to keep them safe and secure.  If you have more than one child at our school, you can merge their accounts to create one login for all your children. Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you’ve activated your account you can make online payments straight away.

Using PayPoint for cash payments

PayPoint payments are recorded by ParentPay and can be seen by logging into your ParentPay account and viewing your payment history online. A list of the nearest PayPoint stores to school will be issued with the activation letter when your child starts school.

Please notify the office if you wish to use the PayPoint facility. A plastic card will be issued to you to make cash payments for school meals at local PayPoint stores. The first card is free of charge; however, any lost or damaged cards will be charged at £1.50 each.  Payment cards take about two weeks to arrive but we can issue a barcoded letter as an interim measure, and you can use this to pay.

Milk, trip and activity information letters will carry a unique barcode which will allow you to make cash payments at your local PayPoint store.

We hope you will support us in achieving our goal to become a cashless school and reduce the workload on our staff. Your support in using ParentPay will help the school enormously, thank you.
