Self-Isolation and Home Learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for playing your part in slowing the transmission of Covid-19 in our community and following the government guidelines on self-isolation.

The main symptoms of Covid-19 are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

If your child has received a positive test result, please contact school immediately to enable us to fulfil our duties set out in our risk assessment document.

Please stay up-to-date with guidance around new or emerging Covid variants.  Visit the NHS website for the most up-to-date advice on testing and self-isolation.

When you contact school to confirm a positive Covid-19 for your child, the admin team will ask whether your child is well enough to work from home.  If your child has no or manageable symptoms, they should be encouraged to work at home.  Your child's class teacher will provide work and feedback, set on Evidence Me (EYFS) or Class Dojo (KS1 and KS2) for them to access daily which matches work that children in school are completing.  With your support to complete their reomte learning, children should be able to return to school and seamlessly continue their learning journey.

Extra self-isolation activities for pupils

To supplement your child’s learning during their self-isolation, please use the documents at the bottom of this page.  We have provided extra English, maths, science and topic activities that can be completed from home and will enable your child to recap, practise and develop their skills in line with their classmates at school.  These documents are additional to the learning that will be sent home electronically if you inform us that your child is well enough to learn from home.

Well-being or safeguarding concerns

If you are in a position where you or your children are unsafe and in immediate danger, you should contact the police, dialling 999.

Please be sure to make contact with school if you need well-being support or have safeguarding concerns. This could involve the safety of a child, a child's physical or emotional well-being or you are a family struggling to keep safe, healthy and well. We will do whatever we can to help you.

You can contact Mrs Debbie Whitehead on the number below. If you text, please first state your child's name this will allow staff to store your number in the phone.
