Welcome to Holly Class!

 (Key Stage 2, Year 3)

Our class teacher is  Mrs Greenhalgh

Claire Riding helps us with our learning every day.

In this Autumn term Holly class have enjoyed the topic Scrumdiddlyumptious. Below are some pictures of the children in Holly class working hard.

In Autumn 1 we have focused on the book, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We have performed our own weather reports using Ipads and have written some super newspaper reports for the extreme weather which is causing terrible problems in Chewandswallow! Holly class have enjoyed learning about the five main food groups and have also learnt a lot about how to make a balanced meal. We have enjoyed cooking a balanced breakfast of oats, fruit and honey and a we have also made a balanced lunch of couscous salad.  On the 14th October Holly class shared their learning in the celebration assembly. We shared our knowledge about a science experiment which we have conducted in Year 3. We used eggs and sugary drinks to observe the changes in the egg shell when it was left in different liquids. We tested Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Lucozade, milk, orange juice, tea and water. Have a look at the photos below to see the eggs after the experiment.

Well done to everyone who has spent lots of time and effort making their topic homework scenes. Below are some photographs of the fantastic pieces of homework which we have been able to share and enjoy in Holly class.

Coming up!

Next half term, our topic is going to be Mighty Metals. We will learn all about forces and materials, with a trip to Magna!

If you have a look through the photo slideshow you will be able to see some of our collages which are all about the forces that we identified during our memorable experience. There is also some of our dance photographs where we have been focusing on transforming our bodies into machines and sequencing movements.
